This shared map started with my first Google Expedition in kindergarten. We had two goals. We wanted to share with parents where we went on our 'magic field trips' and we wanted to add content to our exploration. A pin was added for every Expedition during our year. Students had the opportunity to add an image (with their teacher's guidance) and details of what they learned on their 'magic field trip.'

This shared map began with our digital pen pal class in San Jose, CA. During a Google Hangout, the students asked us about our snow days and I promised to make a short video of snow the next time it appeared in Virginia. When the first few snowflakes fell, I had my 360 camera and a few moments to tape a very impromptu weather report. I pinned it to My Maps and shared the link with their class. Soon after, they began creating 360 videos and pinning to our shared map.

How engaged will your students be when you introduce an assignment with a 360 video? This is my newest favorite way to use My Maps.
