This was my first Puppet Pals in kindergarten. I showed my class how to use it on the Smartboard and we talked through our design for our class Puppet Pals. We chose an Earth Day theme because we had just finished our Earth Day unit. I had my iPad hooked up to the document camera so the kids could see how to manipulate the characters, record, etc. They loved adding their voices and their faces lit up when we played our finished product on the Smartboard. If my 6 year olds can make Puppet Pals, so can you!
Below are just a few of the individual "shows" or "movies" (as they called them) that the kids made when they had time to explore and create on their own. I didn't give them any restrictions except that they had to stay in their spot and work on their own iPad. Puppet Pals was an app my kids went to often whenever they had free choice minutes on the iPads.
You might want to spread the kids further apart when recording. You can hear classroom voices (and a certain teacher's) in the background. Other than that, Puppet Pals was a complete success. I loved watching their creativity and how they were so excited to share them with each other. It is an amazing tool you'll want to teach your kids at the beginning of the year!
